Modern design is midway between traditional and minimalism in many ways: structure, circulation, connection between interiors and exteriors, materials, and lifestyle. Modern houses are viewed as a huge machine that should be very easy to use. 1. Relaxing Contemporary House
The first thing one realizes in thins contemporary house is the abundance of glass walls. A beautiful landscape needs a framing through which it is enhanced from the interior. The main entrance is from the opposite side, and is at a higher level from the photographed perspective. This architecture provides privacy to the inhabitants without depriving them from the scenic views and the fresh air. It is necessary to note that the modern pastel-colored finish materials used: stainless steel, aluminum …etc., give the house lightness.
2. Bold Modern House
What make this residence distinctive are the bold dark variable modern materials used. Brown wood cladding, together with the vertical glass wall, accentuates the height of the four-story house. The horizontality of the cladding slats continues to the balusters and thus balances the heightening effect.
3. Modern House with Volumes
A beautifully designed landscape surrounds the different volumes of this contemporary house. The three main volumes are clearly visible and taken to a further level by the alteration of finish on the middle volume. The darker cladding here tells the viewer that this is the center of the house. Playing with volumes in architecture is always easy on the eyes, and gives a strange feeling of satisfaction.
4. Extensiely Glazed Exterior
Glazed facades connect the exterior to the interior, so you cannot but imagine the life in this ultra-modern house while looking at it. The structure is mainly formed of two contrasting volumes, a wide white box that looks like floating due to the glazed ground floor façade, and the relatively slim, tall, cladded and grey chimney hood. The choice of glass railing is excellent; no interference in shape, just more lightness.
5. Contrasting Modern Exterior
A very bold black and white modern house design. The main element in this structure is the aluminum work that sharply contrasts the plain white walls. Perhaps extruding the creamy volume, where the entrance is, to the right would have animated the shape, and accentuated the entrance.
6. More is Less
The FIVE very different cladding on the volumes of this house might accentuate the various functions in the house, but hugely decrease uniformity and elegance. Less is more. This structure does not bear more than two finish colors. The same applies to the aluminum and glass.
7. Sharp Modern House
A very striking exterior is formed when slanted vertical elements are infused into a space. This structure would have made a great restaurant or events venue, but definitely not a house. Sharp angles emit negative energy and do not allow comfort, the thing you most need at home.
8. Cold Exterior
Naked cast-in-place concrete walls, charcoal and brown cladding, grey aluminum window frames, grey metal roofing and green glass are more than enough elements to call this house modern. I, personally, do not recommend alucobond/alu-metal cladding for houses because of the cold effect it gives.
9. Greenery in Modern Patio
This uniform, simple house is given life by the patio and garden. Whenever you can, and it is almost always, add greenery to your place. It will add life not only to your house, but also to your family.
10. Industrial House
This industrial looking house borrowed its structure and finish from shipping containers. This style is gaining a lot of fans due to being cost-effective, versatile, and sustainable. One thing I would have changed: the organic shape of the pool. Curves and sharp horizontality do not work together; or at least break the architectural concept.
