How to clean your countertops

Countertops are the epicenter for bacteria and grime. They are exposed to raw meat, produce, sauce, dirty hands, spills and everything in between. After that grab a microfiber cloth and start rubbing. When you are cleaning, be sure to go for the S-pattern, that is, start from one corner and work your way to the other corner. Then little by little work your way to the bottom of the countertop.

This step will help you to get rid of any grime or stains that are present on your countertops. As a final step, you want to spray the surface with rubbing alcohol. You don’t need to rinse. Let it dry on its own. This will keep germs at bay.

Take all the contents out of your cabinets, get rid of dust and debris either by vacuuming or by wiping the surface with a dry microfiber cloth. The next thing you want to do is sprinkle a generous amount of your solution and wipe down with another clean cloth or rag. Let it dry and repeat for all the drawers and cupboards.

You can use this simple and eco-friendly sink cleaner to get rid of said bacteria. When we are talking about deep cleaning your kitchen, we can’t skip cutting boards. They are a real heath threat because they are more susceptible to bacteria than glass.

For wood boards, apply kosher salt to the surface. Now, you want to cut a lemon in half and use the squishy part to rub the entire wood board. It is a wise idea to squeeze some juice over the surface and let it work for a while. When the time is up, hold the board under hot water. Towel dry. You’re done.
